Anthony, someone in the community group Pt'Chang that I used to be involved with, sent out an email with information on a few local groups that are doing aid work in indonesia and sri lanka. So if you want to donate to a local group here are two sites:

http://www.nonviolenceinternational.net (for indonesia)
http://www.sarvodaya.org (for sri lanka)

They both take credit cards. Anthony is also part of an organization that does "protective accompaniment" in indonesia, which means they have someone from eg Australia accompanying people in indonesia so that the indonesians do not "disappear". They accompany people who are at a high risk of disppearing, which I think is mainly those whose ideals do not match the goverment's. So I assume that he has some idea of which organizations are worthwhile to donate to over there.

There's not much else to report.. I'm getting a lot of work done on my thesis, and we are still battling with the HR department at KK hospital where lesley will be working. We finally have all the necessary forms (we hope), and are filling them in.
