I've only managed one training session for step 2, which is to tell Eb and F# apart by ear. I'm getting Lesley to play the notes while I try to guess which is which.

It's hard! When I play the 6 notes from D to G, I can clearly hear the change between E and F. The 3 notes from D to E have a distinctive sound, and the 3 notes from F to G have another distinctive sound. But the challenge now is to memorize and distinguish those sounds.

I've been noticing that I hear F# around the back bottom of my left ear, and also in the left of my throat. Eb I hear more towards the top of the left ear, and in the area of my head around there. I have had reasonable success with using that to distinguish the two notes.

What I need to do now is to train daily until I can distinguish them. Until the "breakthrough" occurs (which is really the result of regular training).
